What Is Democracy Without Choice?

Two years ago, a well-organized and well-funded group of people ran as a collective for county commissioner seats here in Ottawa County. When I saw the first yard sign go up, I knew that they had a marketing professional and money on their side and that the sitting board was going to have a fight on their hands—and they did. Eight of the sitting commissioners lost their seats in the Primary Election.

When I reviewed my ballot for the General Election, I saw the Democrats weren't even in the fight!  I decided then and there that I wouldn’t let that happen again. I’m running for county commissioner in the 9th District to be certain that it doesn’t.

We Have Work To Do

Two years later Ottawa County is worse for wear. I'm one of many who have decided it's time to stand up and take our county back. Back to good governance, transparency and sound financial decision making. We need to work for everyone in Ottawa County, not just for some. We need to win in November to stabilize our local government before the current chaos and rampant spending endangers our hard won AAA bond rating, protect our health department so that they can protect our community and get back to the job of planning for the future.

I hope that you'll join me in my fight to win back our county. I'm up for the challenge and with your help, I know that we can win.
