Meet Angela

Beautiful West Michigan and Ottawa County have been my home for more than 17 years. My husband Chris and I moved from Chicago to raise our two babies into amazing and talented people. We found our community here.

My background is in marketing and my degree is in advertising communications. I've been a writer, a photo art director/editor, a creative director, a manager, a mentor, and a leader. Where some people think in black and white, I think in full blown color. Being a creative has made me a creative problem solver, and like most women/mothers/professionals, I know what it takes to get things done.

Community minded and a chronic volunteer, I'm not one to shy away from hard work. In support of our children's schools I've served as Foundation President, website manager, room mom, band backer, auction team member and emcee. I've painted buildings, baked cakes, designed logos and sold raffle tickets.

As Downtown Development Director for the Village of Spring Lake (2018-2021), I worked with Village Manager Christine Burns to bring economic development to our area and managed many events in support of our local businesses. I took on the capital campaign for the redevelopment of Tanglefoot Park, wrote grants and sat on steering committees for its multi-use building and sculpture.

Along with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office I led the fundraising for the Art in the Park program and orchestrated bringing eight murals to the Lakeside Trail, the Village's non-motorized path and linear park both a crime deterrent and a community destination.

I sat on the Spring Lake Progressives steering committee and currently, I co-manage the Spring Lake Village Memorial Day Parade and sit on the steering committee of Progressive Lakeshore.

In serving the community during elections, I've been boots on the ground involved in door knocking for voter outreach, education and registration as well as driving folks to the polls and for several years, I've served as an election inspector for Carolyn Boersma, Spring Lake Township Clerk. In 2018, I was a co-campaign chair for Jeanette Schipper's State Senate run .

Now it's time to run my own campaign, and I'm looking forward to working with and for you.
